Well that explains a lot
Recently rewatched Gosford Park after at least a decade (thank you Netflix!) and was struck by the similarities to Downton Abbey’s “upstairs / downstairs” themes, and Maggie Smith appearances. ;)
Guess really should not have been surprised, as they were apparently both written by Julian Fellowes.
All makes sense now. ;)
